This parameter is particularly interesting for people following keto diets, practicing intermittent fasting, or training as endurance athletes.
Beyond these scenarios, the presence of ketones in urine may also indicate a metabolic shift away from using carbohydrates as fuel. Typically, there should be no ketones present in urine; however, they can appear in the special cases mentioned above. If your ketone levels reach a high level and you are not practicing intermittent fasting or intentionally restricting carbs, it is recommended to take another measurement for confirmation.
